a tribute to the outpost of our culture
Contemporary multifarious artist BJ Choudrē blends textiles with objects creating installations that explore the relationship between the masculine and feminine. As disparate elements become clarified through personal and collective voices which are then distilled into ‘Sculptural Chapters’ that leave a tribute to the outposts of our culture.
The SanityRag series challenges the attitudes, shame and the taboo topic of menstruation within the South Asian community; from the perspective of a British Asian male. SanityRag also questions and seeks understanding from other communities. This piece opens discussions on personal, economic, political, and social equality, addressing fundamental questions about gender roles in society, the world and beyond.
